Our Team

Dr. Jill Skochdopole

Dr Jill is a 1986 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked for 5 years with other area veterinarians before starting Ryegate Small Animal Hospital. Her husband and his father built the clinic, which opened its doors in May of 1993. The clinic and her son and daughter have grown up together.

While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, surgery is of special interest. She also really enjoys the long term relationships that happen with being in one place for a long time – relationships with patients, clients, and staff.

Her time away from the clinic is spent exploring the natural world on foot, by bicycle, and in a kayak. She also enjoys cooking the food she and her husband raise, reading, knitting, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. David Hyde

Dr. Hyde graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. He has been working in Northern Vermont and Massachusetts for the past 22 years.

Dr. Hyde enjoys all aspects of veterinary general practice. His special interest, however, is in veterinary dentistry. Like Dr. Jill, he believes strongly in a lifetime of care and a strong personal relationship with owners and their pets.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Hyde loves spending time with his family, and loves to cook. If there are a few minutes left after everything else is done, he loves to take his motorcycle out for a spin on the many roads of Vermont and New Hampshire.
